“Stairways and Michael Lynch are saving my life, literally. I am so grateful to be in this and a part of this program, it’s absolutely amazing! Addicts that truly genuinely care about other addicts and they want nothing in return, except for an addict to succeed and for one addict to help another. Without another addicts help I would not be here.”
~ Kris Kardokus
What Is a Dual Diagnosis?
Dual diagnosis treats both a mental health disorder (anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and more) and a substance use disorder (alcohol use disorder, opioid use disorder, stimulant use disorder, and more). Both of these disorders can negatively affect a person’s health, physically, socially, emotionally, and psychologically. Individually or together, they both impact an individual’s ability to function within society and in daily life.
At Stairway Resource Center, we thoroughly examine your history to develop a deep understanding of each of your disorders and how they interact. Our screening process can also help you identify previously unrealized mental health disorder symptoms that may have contributed to your substance use.

Some Common Dual Diagnoses Include Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Combined With:

Depression

Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Bipolar Disorder

Panic Disorder

Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Schizophrenia and Personality Disorders

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Obsessive-Compulsive Tendencies and Disorders (OCD)

Outpatient Recovery with a Community Support Program
Participants will connect with other recovering people who are part of the community. This connection has proven to help individuals stay accountable and has proven to have better outcomes than programs without the community aspect.
Our multidisciplinary treatment team uses a structured program, based on solid recovery principles, and proven medical and evidence-based modalities. When combined with safe and comfortable sober living housing and supportive community, we believe we have one of the most unique and effective outpatient programs available to individuals in need of care.

“Although I didn’t have the experience living in one of their homes, my daughter chose Stairways as part of her recovery process. I can honestly say this was a life changing and saving experience for her. During her drug addiction we lost what daughter we knew. This program brought her back to us and made a life that we as parents want from our kids. Her attitude about life in general is amazing. She loves life like she’s never known. She’s now a productive person in society and has dedicated her life to helping others. Not to mention even dogs. Who knew. Again I’m indebted to Stairways for making my daughter whole again.”
