Our Levels of Care in Los Angeles

Drug and Alcohol Detox Program & Withdrawal Management
Inpatient & Residential Treatment
Our inpatient treatment in Los Angeles County is a highly structured environment that supports community connection for long-term healing. Stairway Resource Center’s residential program offers daily therapy sessions and recovery-focused living for ongoing improvement. This setting fosters a supportive community where clients can develop essential skills and resilience needed for lasting sobriety.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our substance abuse treatment facility in Santa Monica understands that inpatient rehab and residential treatment can be time-consuming. We support a structured day program with medical and psychiatric care, which allows our clients to receive care during the day and return home to tackle other priorities for balance.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our IOP also provides flexibility for our clients who require less frequent, shorter therapy sessions. Clients can complete their studies or attend work outside of treatment. Each individual has the option to attend group therapy, receive relapse prevention treatment services, or take a spiritual approach to recovery with our team.
Outpatient Treatment (OP)
If clients are ready for a step-down from residential care, outpatient rehab can be an effective option. This is the least intensive level of care. Clients can receive up to one to two therapy sessions per week, along with community support. Outpatient treatment allows individuals to maintain their daily routines while continuing their recovery journey in a flexible, supportive environment.
Sober Living
Here at Stairway Resource Center, we provide gender-specific homes to create a comfortable and safe environment tailored to each individual’s needs. Our sober living program teaches accountability and provides peer connection for reduced isolation in recovery. Living in a structured, supportive environment helps clients develop essential life skills and build confidence as they transition back into everyday life.

Immediate family nurturance is crucial in the recovery process. For that reason, we provide family therapy sessions, family-only support groups, and ongoing care to promote long-term recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Yes! We accept most major insurance plans, making access to treatment more affordable and convenient for our clients. We recommend that you contact your insurance provider directly to confirm coverage specifics and any potential out-of-pocket costs. Our team can also assist you in understanding your benefits and navigating the insurance process. Our goal is to work with you to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent you from receiving the care you need.
The duration of treatment varies depending on individual needs and progress. Typically, our programs last between 4 and 6 months, providing ample time for meaningful recovery. Some clients may require shorter periods, around 2 to 6 weeks, especially if their needs are less complex. In certain cases, treatment can extend up to 45 days if additional support or stabilization is necessary. We tailor each treatment plan to support sustainable recovery and long-term wellness.
Dual diagnosis treatment involves addressing both addiction issues and co-occurring mental health disorders simultaneously. Our team of specialists is trained to evaluate and treat conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. This integrated approach often leads to better outcomes because it considers the interplay between mental health and addiction. By treating both issues at once, we help clients achieve more stable and lasting recovery.
Absolutely. Outpatient treatment is a flexible option that allows your loved one to receive professional support while maintaining their daily responsibilities. It provides structured therapy, counseling, and support groups to promote recovery in a less restrictive environment. Many clients find outpatient care effective as an initial step or a continuation of more intensive treatment. We encourage families to discuss this option with our team to determine the best approach based on their loved one’s specific needs.
Sober living is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended, especially for individuals with severe addiction or co-occurring mental health conditions. Living in a sober environment can provide ongoing support and accountability during the early stages of recovery. It helps clients develop healthy routines and maintain sobriety while reintegration into daily life. Our team can assist in recommending appropriate sober living options tailored to each person’s circumstances. Many clients find that sober living helps build lasting habits and creates a stable foundation for long-term success.
At Stairway Resource Center, we pride ourselves on creating a supportive and nurturing community that truly emphasizes connection and peer support. Addiction is considered a chronic condition, meaning it often requires ongoing management rather than a complete cure. However, with appropriate treatment, many individuals achieve lasting recovery and significantly improve their quality of life. A comprehensive approach that includes therapy, support systems, and sometimes medication can help manage cravings and prevent relapse. It’s important to understand that recovery is a lifelong journey, but it is possible to lead a healthy, sober life with the right tools and support. With dedication, resilience, and the proper resources, individuals can regain control and move forward positively.

Continuously engaging with aftercare resources helps prevent relapse and strengthens the skills learned during treatment for sustained success.
