Our Recovery Services in Los Angeles
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Outpatient Treatment (OP)
If you are ready for a step-down from residential care, outpatient rehab can be an effective option. This is the least intensive level of care. You or your loved one can receive up to one to two therapy sessions per week, along with community support. Outpatient treatment can allow you to maintain your daily routine while continuing your recovery journey in a flexible, supportive environment.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Once you complete medically supervised detox for withdrawal management, you can later transfer to our structured day treatment program. Our substance abuse treatment in Los Angeles understands that inpatient rehab and residential treatment can be time-consuming. However, with medical detoxification and later psychiatric care during the day, you can return home to tackle other priorities for balance.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Yes! SRC accepts most major insurance plans, making access to treatment more affordable and convenient for you. We recommend that you contact your insurance provider directly to confirm coverage specifics and any potential out-of-pocket costs. Our team can also assist you in understanding your benefits and navigating the insurance process. Stairway Resource Center’s goal is to work with you to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent you from receiving the care you need.
The duration of treatment varies depending on your individual needs, type of program, and progress made over time. Typically, our programs last between 4 and 6 months, providing ample time for meaningful recovery. Some clients may require shorter periods, around 2 to 6 weeks, especially if their needs are less complex. In certain cases, our residential opioid treatment program can extend up to 45 days if additional support or stabilization is necessary. We tailor each treatment plan to support sustainable recovery and long-term wellness.
Dual diagnosis treatment involves addressing both addiction issues and co-occurring mental health disorders simultaneously. Our team of specialists is trained to evaluate and treat conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. If you are facing challenges with severe drug or alcohol use, we may recommend medication-assisted treatment (MAT). However, no narcotic medications are offered at the outpatient program.
For example, you may receive buprenorphine or methadone to ease withdrawal symptoms or be prescribed psychiatric medications in combination with talk therapy to manage addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions best. This integrated approach often leads to better outcomes because it considers the interplay between mental health and addiction. By treating both issues at once, we can help you achieve a more stable and lasting recovery.
Absolutely! At Stairway Resource Center, our recovery team understands that balancing work, school, treatment, and relationships can feel overwhelming. For that reason, outpatient treatment is a flexible option that allows your loved one to receive professional support while maintaining daily responsibilities. It provides structured therapy, counseling, and support groups in a less restrictive environment to promote recovery.
Many clients find outpatient care effective as an initial step or a continuation of more intensive treatment. We encourage families to discuss this option with our team to determine the best approach based on your loved one’s specific needs.
Sober living is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended, especially if you have a severe addiction or co-occurring mental health conditions. Living in a sober environment can provide ongoing peer support and accountability during the early stages of addiction or mental health recovery. Residing in a sober living home can also help you develop healthy routines and maintain sobriety as you reintegrate into daily life.
Our team can assist you in recommending appropriate sober living options tailored to specific circumstances. Many clients find that sober living helps build lasting habits and creates a stable foundation so you can achieve long-term recovery success.
